Week 3~Ups and Downs

Well this week the scale is showing a gain of 2lbs.  I will not blame the protocol because the protocol did not do it.  Life just seems to through in some curve balls.

Friday Night, I found myself at a local Italian restaurant with my lifelong bestie.  I very carefully scrutinized the menu and decided to order the Country Fagioli.   I was expecting broth and spinach with a few white beans.  I even asked the waiter to confirm.  Well the broth was cream based.  I just relented and enjoyed.  I managed to dodge all bread and pasta; so sometimes you just take the hit.

Saturday, I had better luck, staying within the HCG 2.0 protocol.  My thought process was that the higher calorie allowance would help me more when I am home with my family.

Sunday was a totally different story.  I cooked for the family and ate with the family.  I knew it would cost.  And today's weight may not be the end of it.  That's the way HCG works.  Cheats may take days to show up and will most likely cause stalls in the next few days while I get myself straightened out.  This basically means I may be on protocol 100% for the next week and not see much progress.

For this round, I only have this week and next before I begin to set my weight.  (Miami is on the horizon).

I will have a break and start back up on 8/1.  Looks like I will have some teammates with me.  But for now, I am just going to concentrate on the time I have left and make my absolute best run at sticking to the protocol as closely as possible.  For those looking for answers; HCG Chica has a whole page dedicated to struggles while using HCG.  I will be reading it and using it for motivation.  http://hcgchica.com/struggling-hcg-diet/

All in all, this is day 14 and my loss is 10lbs.  10lbs in 2 weeks is still pretty amazing.

Week 2~Off to a GREAT start.

Ok, today is actually Day 8 of the HCG 2.0 protocol.  I am down 12lbs. which is wonderful!-- This week starts at 300lbs and I am excited at that because it means I should officially get under that this week.
I have some major dates in July, a trip to Miami, and lots of birthdays that prevents me from doing a full 6 weeks like I want to.  I decided to do a short round of 21 days, which gives me the ability to set my weight before Miami and little Havana.

So let's talk about the last 8 days.

First I decided to use pharmaceutical grade HCG.  I acquired mine internationally due to price savings.  If you go that route be sure you do your research and allow for time to clear customs.  However, I will not make recommendations regarding where to buy since so many have expressed bad experiences.  I ordered 3 vials of 5000 i.u.  I decided against injections although I am sure I will pursue later.  I followed these instructions to make my HCG sublingual.

HCGChica has some tried and true resources on where to order your HCG.  Also a really great blog!  Her transformation has been amazing.

I have experience with the OP HCG (old protocol) and you can familiarize yourself it as well since it is the ground floor for the new protocol HCG 2.0.  Get Dr. Simeons .pdf here.   Then you will need Dr. Zach LaBoube's book HCG 2.0 for the differences on what you can now allow.   For me the main difference is I have an allowance of a bit over 800 calories per day vs. the OP of 500.  This is calculated using your starting BMR and should be recalculated for every 10 lbs lost.

After week one, I have used the Ketostix to detect ketones and I have a slight elevation.  The goal here is to achieve Ketosis.  Mass information is out there saying Ketostix are not the most accurate.  For now, I am using them.

So far, I have no hunger and since I love to cook options are endless.   I try to have a big Sunday breakfast.  Yesterday's consisted of 1 large egg and 2 servings of egg beaters.  I topped it with an extra serving of chunky salsa just for a bonus.

And how does one not cheat on Father's day?  Well that one proved more difficult.  My menu for my husband included a 1lb. Prime Rib, Grilled Shrimp and Asparagus, and a German Chocolate Cake.  Easy to see that I myself would not be able to indulge with him.  I simply downgraded.  I did enjoy a nice 3.5 oz. of that prime rib, and all the asparagus I wanted.  My shellfish allergy kept me from diving into the shrimp--which otherwise would be more then acceptable.  Next time though, I need to skip making the German Chocolate Cake... Although that would be unfair to Papi.  Just too much temptation.

Updates will be weekly.... See you next week!

Starting Over with the End Game on my Mind.

Well here I am again.... Trying something else.  Haven't blogged in awhile and thought about deleting the old posts.  I have decided not to just because it demonstrates where I am.

See I am this beautiful woman and I know that.  But I am unhappy about my weight.  I make a good effort, smash the gas, and see results.  Then I crash and burn.

The pictures in this post are from my 15th wedding anniversary.  My Hubbz loved them.  I don't.  But I am posting them to show where I am and hopefully this time; my journey goes somewhere else.  These full body photos I have dared NOT to Share.

Previously, I did the shred program.  But like so many, in the maintenance phase I did not keep it up. That has nothing to do with program.  It works if you do.

In November 2015; I decided to go to the doctor and do prescribed medical weight loss.  I used phentermine for 3 months and lost 40 lbs.  Since then the scale is creeping back up slowly.

I know when I eat low carb I am happy.  See I am addicted to those things.  And the convenience always wins.

After careful consideration I decided to embark on the HCG journey and I have decided to use the new protocol HCG 2.0.  I am a week in and I have had great results.  But more on that later.  This post is about humbling myself and starting over.

If you want to know more about my plan choice you can find information here.  Looking forward to a new chapter and a different ending.  Jennifer
